La Hospedería-Bar-Restaurante Virgen de la Fuente - Peñarroya de Tastavins

We had been to La Hospedería Restaurante Virgen de la Fuente at Peñarroya de Tastavins only a couple of months ago to celebrate our wedding anniversary but this was another special occasion - Sara's birthday!

Sara was visiting us from England and we had spent a few days in Vinaròs and now we were having a few days at Torre del Compte before travelling to Madrid for a few more days.

After a superb meal at the restaurant we explored the grounds.

The water flows from an underground stream, the Fuente, into the river Tastavins.

The old bridge across the river is now just a footbridge as it has been replaced by a modern roadbridge.

The village of Peñarroya de Tastavins nestles in the foothills of the Puertos de Beceite, the mountain range between us and the Mediterranean.

Certainly worth a visit and great food too!

The ermita at Vinaròs.

Ermita de la Mare de Déu de la Misericòrdia i de Sant Sebastià, The Shrine of Our Lady of Mercy and Saint Sebastian at Vinaròs, is located on top of Puig de la Misericordia, 6 km from the town. 

There has been a chapel on this site since the 15th century although the current buildings have evolved since the 17th century with recent restoration.

Next to the chapel is a restaurant in what was once the hermit's house.

Inside, the chapel is beautifully decorated.

Certainly worth a visit and you can get a Menú del Día there too!
