It's that time of year already for the Amas de Casa, (the housewives group), in Torre del Compte to hold their annual market.
We have been having some heavy showers for the last couple of days but fortunately this morning produced only a couple of very light showers and the market went ahead in the village street as in previous years.
As usual it proved very popular and there was brisk trade for the doughnuts and other cakes as well as on the plant stall.

Gorse and pear blossom.
Confirmation that Spring has arrived as today the pear tree was in full bloom...
...not that there were many bees around - they are all in the fields with the white flowering weed!

And the gorse had decided to flower.
Yes, it's arrived at last!

Spring has sprung!
It has taken a long time for winter to finally turn into spring this year but after a couple of false starts we can finally say that it has sprung.
The almond trees are turning green with their lovely fresh leaves...
...and the weeds have really taken off!
We need a few more of these warm, cloudless days...
...but the bees are making the most of it - the fields are positively humming!
And I heard my first cuckoo of the year 2 days ago!
