Lunch with friends in the Fonda la Plaza restaurant in the centre of Valderrobres - what could be better?

To start, a plate of mussels in a lovely onion sauce to share.

I chose the cierdo, deer, for segundos. Maybe the herd had been culled after Christmas.

And then a visit to the renovated convent/school which is now to be a hostal.

You get a great view from the top.

These original tiles in the laundry room downstairs date back to the 17th century.

Next door is the delightful small church. Certainly worth a visit!
